D2P Workshop – Sep 8, 2010

The workshop provided a recap of significant investigations conducted in association with the SEO/RSM project, as well as an overview of the recent work that has been completed in the Diamond Head to Pearl Harbor (D2P) region in Fiscal Year 2010. Highlights of the workshop included presentations on updated regional shoreline change studies, sediment budgets, the Waikiki Shoreline Camera, and beneficial use of dredged material. Discussions amongst attendees from Federal/State/local government, UH, and private industry about the shorelines of Waikiki and Ewa Beach/Pearl Harbor areas provided valuable insight into the history and present state of the D2P shoreline. Potential demonstration project designs were also discussed for Ft. DeRussy Sand Backpassing, Waikiki Beach Video Surveillance, and Beneficial Use of Dredge Material at Pearl Harbor
