Hale‘iwa RSM

The Haleiwa Region includes a the federally authorized Haleiwa Small Boat Harbor navigation project and Haleiwa Beach Park shore protection project.  Sediment related issues in the Haleiwa Region include interception of littoral transport on the updrift harbor breakwater and erosion downdrift which has prompted the need for an offshore breakwater, groin and beach fill designed to maintain a nominal beach width.   Other features within the region include Puaena Point Beach, Alii Beach and Kaiaka Beach.  Click on the links to the left to learn more about the regional investigations conducted as part of the Honolulu District’s regional sediment management program.
